They dreamed. They designed. They strutted their super fashionable stuff– couture, that is!
With only 5 weeks to design and create, and a budget of $125 dollars, soon to be famous fashion designers went to work.
I had the honor of being a judge at Simon Mall’s Design Wars Event– part of Simon Fashion Now: a celebration of style at Roosevelt Field Mall.
8 top design students from Nassau Community Colleges’ Fashion Design Program competed Project Runway style for the top prize.
The models who graced the stage: 8 successful women from Long Island’s food industry. And every gown had to feature some kind of kitchen utensil–like a spatula bracelet– gorgeous, by the way.
Thanks to Simon Mall for inviting Life is Sweet TV to be a part of the day. The event was presented by Winthrop University Hospital.
So who won the contest? What is your pick?
Check back later for the winner! A hint? Think very Carrie Bradshaw on this one!
