She is the Queen of Hollywood hair…She styles mega stars like Beyonce –enough said?
And recently, I got the chance to get up close and personal with Hollywood hair royalty, at the screening party for We tv’s newest reality show “LA Hair”, starring celebrity hair stylist Kim Kimble.
“LA Hair” took on NYC! And it was great.
After seeing a preview of the premiere episode, I was hooked like hair brush bristles caught in a knot.
Hair raising drama?… You bet. That’s what you get when you combine the high stakes world of celebrity hair with larger than life personalities like Kim and her staff. As Kim puts it…
“In a salon, you know there’s drama. You’ve seen gunslinging. You’ve seen everything. Even high end salons have drama and the drama is higher”.
In a high end, high stakes salon, you can’t afford to let your hair down. Just a few of the celebrity clients we’ll see on the show include Kelly Rowland, Brandy, Laila Ali, Garcelle Beavais…
Less isn’t more when it comes to celebrity hair. According to Kim, “more is better”.
The premiere episode of “LA HAIR” was a lot of fun to watch. And while there’s plenty of drama, the reality is that Kim Kimble, hairstylist to the stars, seems like a really down to earth person. She says she learned everything she knows from her mom, who works with Kim at her high end salon and will be featured on the show as well.
Kim’s castmates, better known as her high strung staff, bring a lot to the table as well. At the screening, we met Angela and Terry. Shy definitely does not define either one of them. And Terry’s hair “pearls of wisdom” are both funny and right on point. I’m pretty sure he told me to get a haircut. And his advice to women out there: “The key is you rock your hair. Don’t let the hair rock you!”
And while Kim has run her hands through the hair of the top stars in Hollywood, there’s still one person who she’d like to get her hands on: Condoleeza Rice. Will “La Hair” come to Washington???
So turn up the volume and tune in to “LA HAIR”. It premieres at a special time 10pm ET/PT on Thursday, May 31st on We tv.
After you watch my interview (above) check out a sneak peak of the premiere.
