So what does it take to set world record? Heart, a very BRIGHT idea, and thousands of menorahs!
Call it a modern day Hanukkah miracle–and the latest feat to set a Guinness World Record.
Check out the world’s largest menorah lighting!
1,000 menorahs, 2,000 candles burning brightly in the same room, all at the same time!
It took 1,000 menorahs and 2,000 candles to light up the night as 800 people from 7 states representing NCSY, an organization dedicated to connecting, inspiring, and empowering Jewish teens, gathered on the first night of Hanukkah at the Hilton Stamford Connecticut Hotel.
After the darkness (physically and spiritually) of Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, the NCSY decided to make this a Hanukkah that no one would soon forget– and shine the light for all affected by the devastating storm.
Congrats to the NCSY on dreaming up the very bright idea to set the world record and coordinating a huge effort to make it a reality.
