Stand Four! Former Maccabeats Launch New Group

WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR?

It’s a question always worth asking yourself, especially around the Holidays.
What do you Stand For? Or…. And in this case… What do you “Stand FOUR”?
If you are four of the original (and now former) Maccabeats,- who just launched the singing group STAND FOUR— you stand for “powerful music, meaningful lyrics, and fun times”. For these very gifted performers—that is more than just a catchy tag line—it’s the mission behind their music.

It’s no secret that I‘m a big fan of the Maccabeats (the acapella singing group from Yeshiva University whose viral hit “Candlelight” launched them to youtube superstardom, a world tour and even a visit to the White House.) Life is Sweet TV went one on one with two of the stars of the group last year, including Stand Four member, Immanuel Shalev – who grew up in Lawrence, LI.

(here is the link to that story)

MOVING ON FROM THE MACCABEATS:

So what do you do, when you graduate from school, start your first job, and (for three of the four in Stand Four), get married?

For Immanuel Shalev, David Block, Noey Jacobson, and Nachum Joel—- you launch a group that keeps you close to home (for now) but still allows you to do what you love—create beautiful, meaningful music.

NEW GROUP, NEW LOOK:

Sure they had to trade in their trademark white shirt and skinny black tie. Check out their new casual look: button down sweaters—and they even break out the hoodies!

THEIR FIRST RELEASE: It’s called Eight Nights:

So….What do they Stand for?? See for yourself. The Video is right here! It’s a parody mashup of “Some Nights” by Fun, “Die Young” by Ke$ha, and “Live While We’re Young” by One Direction.

Congrats to Stand Four. I’m already a fan! Could a world tour be far behind?
